“Enjoy serving the Lord, and he will give you whatever you ask for.”
Psalms 37:4 (ERV)
There was a time when I used to think that taking delight in the Lord was impossible.
I mean, possible but for those who were 40 and more.
I thought serving God wasn’t for teenagers. I used to find praying so boring and annoying. Anything that was connected to prayer longer that 2 min was annoying for me. I remember the time I hated standing up to worship during the service. Like, can’t we worship while being seated ?!
I didn’t realize how GREAT was the God we were worshipping. I didn’t realize that only He deserved to be seated on the throne and that I needed to bow down before His magnificence.
Besides all that, besides my complete disinterest in anything that could make my relationship with God grow stronger, there was a time when I really need Him.
If God wasn’t God, He would have acted like me. I mean, He would say : She needs me only when she’s doing bad. I don’t need those kind of people in my life. Like she doesn’t care about me, I won’t care about her either.
But no. Besides all that, God answered me.
That made me realize only half of His love for me and made me want to know Him more. Because I was really confused. How can a God love like that ? That’s kind of intrigant, right ?
Then, He made me learn to love Him, His presence, and to love talking about Him.
I started praying for 3 minutes to 5. From 5 to 10. From 10 to 20, etc…
God is love.
“Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love.”
1 John 4:8 (NIRV)
“Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love.”
1 John 4:8 (NIRV)
The Bible says that if we don’t love, we don’t know Him because one of His name, is Love.
And when I let Him enter into my heart, He poured out His love in it.
But I still want to love Him and know Him more and more and more and more. And that’s because of Him. He made me know Him and that made me want to love Him more than ever, anyone and anything.
And to whom may it concern, if you’re thinking as I used to, let me tell you that you’re wrong. You can take delight in the Lord and it is not about your age, your past or anything. It’s just about letting Him enter into your heart.
He’ll give you peace, love and the desires of your heart. He’ll help you love Him more, trust Him and enjoy serving Him.
And I pray that you’ll realize that, the most important desire you could have in your heart is to love Him more and more everyday. He’ll take care of the rest.
What are you waiting for ?
Don’t wait any longer, just open the door.
You’re blessed.
You’re loved.
You’re important.
You were born to shine.
